The Rajpur Small Hydro Power Project is planned on Nogli Khad, a tributary on the left bank of river Satluj. Nogli Khad joins the Satluj River just before Rampur town, near a RCC Bridge on NH #22 Constructed over the River Nogli.

The Co-ordinates of the Diversion Weir and Power House are as follows: 770  42’ to 770 58’E and 310 24’ to 310 10’N

Diversion of water will be made at an elevation of 1233 m on the Nogli Khad and the power house will be situated near the Rajpur village on the left bank. A net head of 98 mts will be available. Studies have shown that installing 2 generating units each of 2250 kW, for a total installation of 4500 kW will, be appropriate at this site.

The Rajpur HEP has been conceived as a run-of-the River project. The power potential of the scheme is based on 75% dependable discharge data. The optimization study has been carried out with the following assumption Installed capacity of project ranging from 3000KW to 5000KW. Energy benefits have been estimated with a sale price of Rs. 2.95/kWh. From the Incremental benefit / cost ratio, it is seen that optimum installed capacity is determined to be of 4500 kW. Hence, considering the optimum utilization of the Plant, PLF of 61.42 %, Annual Generation, Techno-Economic Viability of Project, the Installed Capacity of 4500 kW with Two TG Units has been recommended & considered for cost estimate purpose. The Gross Generation of the Project is obtained as 25.41 Million Units per annum.
